The Objectives section of the Shadow application allows you to develop, edit and add training/learning objectives to meet the task requirements of the role. This guide will help you navigate the Objectives page, perform essential tasks, and understand the various features available.

Navigating the Objectives Screen

The Objectives page provides the main functionality required to accurately define the training required for any duty, task or sub-task defined in the Tasks page.

The Objectives page displays Role requirements such as duties, tasks and sub-tasks on the left hand side of the table and generated Objectives on the right of the table thereby displaying in an easy-to-view layout the task to objective connection required of a Systematic Approach to Training.

Generating Training and Enabling Objectives

Shadow utilises a range of AI capabilities to support you in developing objectives that are capable of training the duties, tasks and sub-tasks created on the Tasks page.
To use generate objectives for a particular task or sub-task, select the edit menu icon and then select the Generate option.

Shadow will not allow users to create training objectives aligned to sub-tasks or enabling objectives aligned to tasks.

In the Generate TO/EO window you are presented with the task(s) and sub-task(s) you are generating objectives for; if the correct selection has been made, press the generate button.

Generating Objectives for Tasks and Sub-tasks

Once generated, all objectives can be reviewed against their related task/sub-task. Each generated objective can be deleted by pressing the corresponding ➖ button and, if required, additional objectives can be generated by selecting the Generate Objectives button again.

Once all required objectives have been generated and reviewed, ensure you select Save to return to the main Objectives page.

In addition, Shadow will develop a single training objective aligned to the parent task. This training objective does NOT define an additional, explicit training requirement but is used as a ‘wrapper’ which summarises its children enabling objectives.

Edit, Delete and Add Objectives

Objectives can be edited at any time by selecting the edit menu and the Edit Enabling Objectives.

In the Edit Objective window, users are able to edit or delete current objectives or, if required, manually add new objectives.
